Weldmar Hospicecare’s latest Overseas Challenge revealed

Applications have opened for Weldmar Hospicecare’s Overseas Challenge 2023. Participants are being sought for an incredible trek along The Path of the Ancients in Greece to raise valuable funds for the Dorset charity next October.

Weldmar Hospicecare, which provides specialist care to people living in Dorset with a life limiting illness and their loved ones, first held an Overseas Challenge in 2013, with fundraising trips to the Sahara desert, Great Wall of China, Nepal, Iceland, the Canadian Rockies, and more.

Alaine Harman, from Weldmar’s fundraising team, is encouraging local people to find out more and sign up. She said: “It’s going to be an amazing experience for everyone taking part. We’ll be immersing ourselves in the beauty and mythology of the country as we trek through a variety of landscapes including forests and mountains.

“Our experienced team will support you throughout your training and fundraising journey, helping you to achieve your goals.”

Participants will travel along the historic trail of the worshippers of Pan as they pilgrimaged to the temples of Delphi and the shrines of the Corycean Grotton, before attempting to summit Gerondovrachos.

A registration fee of £370 is payable on booking, and there is an achievable fundraising target of £2500 for participants to raise. The trek will take place 5th – 9th October 2023.
