Wanted: your unwanted ‘bags for life’

It is the last collection week for Christmas bags for life for Dorchester Family Support.

The community group are asking for donations of any sturdy Christmas themed bags you might have. They intend to use them to put Christmas hamper foodstuffs in, making the food parcels look much more festive than they otherwise would!

The bags need to be large, strong and able to carry a sizeable load of tins, packets and Christmas fare. A sturdy festive Bag for Life or Jute/Hessian Bag would be perfect.

Bags can be dropped off at the office at Dorchester Baptist Church, The Dorford Centre, 1 Bridport Road in Dorchester. It’s right by the Top o’ Town roundabout and the deadline is Sunday 27th  November.

A spokesperson said: “Your help is greatly appreciated as the more bags we have the less we will need to spend on buying the bags and the more we can put into the content. We are not government funded and rely on the support of the local community. If you haven’t got one to donate you could always buy one.”
