Get your real Christmas tree collected this January to support Weldmar Hospicecare

Weldmar Hospicecare’s Christmas Treecycle is back, where you can book a collection for your real Christmas tree in January, in return for a suggested minimum donation of £10 per tree.

The collections will be made between Saturday 7th and Monday 9th January, from the Weymouth, Portland, Dorchester, Beaminster, Blandford, Bridport, Sherborne, Shaftesbury and Gillingham areas.

The Treecycle initiative is once again being supported by Trinity Street Christmas Trees, who will be making the collections on Weldmar’s behalf, alongside Weldmar volunteers, and helping to dispose of the trees in an eco-friendly manner.

Fiona Hansford co-ordinates the project for Weldmar and says, ‘It is great to be able to offer the Christmas Treecycle for the people of Dorset again, and every donation for every tree collected means that we can continue to provide specialist care for adults in Dorset living with a life limiting illness, and support for their loved ones.’

Tamzin Hyde from Trinity Street Christmas Trees is delighted to partner with Weldmar again.  She says ‘As a local Dorset-based business it is great to not only be able to offer this service to the local community but also help raise vital funds for Weldmar.  As a team we were able to collect over 900 trees during the last initiative, which raised more than £10,000 for the charity!  This is a fantastic scheme we are extremely proud to be involved with.’

This year you can also add your WhatThreeWords location when booking to make it easier for the volunteers to find your address when collecting your tree.  Book your collection date and find out more information via the Weldmar Hospicecare website: weldmarhospicecare.org/trees
