Dorchester FC encounter former Magpie in opposition

When Dorchester ran out against Poole Town on Boxing Day they came up against one of the former Magpies fan’s favourites Wes Fogden.

Fogden started his career at Brighton & Hove Albion in July 2004, breaking into the first-team in 2007 and making a total of 3 league appearances. Aged just 18, he discovered he had a Tumour that was eating into his Spine, Fogden underwent successful surgery shortly after and spent three months in a restrictive plaster cast before working his way back to full fitness.

After fully recovering from the operation, Fogden joined Dorchester on loan in early October 2007 before he was recalled to his parent club in December of the same year.

He re-joined the Magpies on contract on July the first 2008.

Since leaving Dorchester in February 2009 on route to Havent and Waterlooville Fogden has turned out in the English Football League for Bournemouth, Portsmouth and Yeovil and a number of other Non League sides and now plying his trade for Poole Town.

One of the Dorchester fans comments at the time of Fogden’s tenure at the Avenue Stadium was, “I wish we had 11 Wes Fogdens in our side”.

Now playing part time football again Fogden works as a Project Manager for Elite Skills Arena based in Poole.
