Family-friendly events at Shire Hall Museum this April

This April, Shire Hall Museum is hosting family-friendly events inspired by its current exhibition The Tiger Who Came to Tea.

The Tiger Who Came to Tea exhibition, originated by Seven Stories, the National Centre for Children’s Books, features facsimiles of original artwork, notes and sketches. The exhibition also offers children the opportunity to step into Sophie’s kitchen and meet a life-size tiger.

Inspired by the exhibition, Shire Hall Museum is hosting Tiger Clay Workshops and Tea with a Tiger.

On Saturday 8th April there will be a clay making workshop with Creative Clay when families can make their own tiger to take home, using air drying clay.  The Tiger Clay workshops are £2 per child and will be taking place from 10am – 1pm. There’s no need to book- just drop in on the day and get creative!

On Saturday 22nd and Sunday 23rd April come and have Tea with a Tiger– a brilliant afternoon for all the family.

Tuck into a delicious selection of tea-time treats, including sandwiches, homemade cupcakes and cookies, all in the company of our friendly tiger. After enjoying afternoon tea, families will have the opportunity to visit The Tiger Who Came to Tea exhibition at Shire Hall Museum.

Tickets are £10 for adults and £8 for children. Booking is essential and subject to availability. To secure a space for ‘Tea with a Tiger’ please email rsvp@shirehalldorset.org
