The Keep Military Museum Young Historians group is set to launch a brand new history podcast, featuring local people connected to the Dorchester’s military history.
Young Historians, a weekly after school club for 14-18 year olds based at The Keep Military Museum, have been working on their new podcast “Keeping It Real” for the past 6 months.
The project was led, designed and produced entirely by teenagers, with the group creating a series of podcast episodes with guests such as local military history writer Christopher Jary, and national serviceman Nick Speakman, who describes serving at the Keep when it was still a working barracks.
The podcasts will be released weekly, with the first episode launching on Thursday 13th of April. To celebrate the release and the Young Historian’s group, the museum is offering free admission to History students on the 13th April – all students need to do is show their school or college timetable for free entry.
Episodes will be released on The Keep Military Museum website at keepmilitarymuseum.org/younghistorians
Young Historians is a free after school club at The Keep Military Museum, meeting on Thursday evenings from 5pm-7pm. For more information about joining the group, please contact Flora Scott on admin@keepmilitarymuseum.org.
