Weekend Sports Report

Lock forward Ralph Green was elected by his Weymouth & Portland Rugby Club team mates as their Player of the 2022 / 23 Season .

He was presented with the award by head coach Rich Bament at the Seahorse’s annual presentation evening held at their Monmouth Avenue clubhouse on Saturday.

Bament also presented young scrum half Jacob Brunell (Grandson of former Weymouth player and club chairman Rodney Middle) with the Most Improved Player of the Season trophy.

Dorset Cricket League Results:

Premier division:

Bere Regis lost at Broadstone by 75 runs, Blandford beat Cattistock & Symene by by 7 runs, Dorchester won at home against Christchurch by 10 wickets and Poole beat Martinstown by 2 wickets.

Division 1:

Poole a team won at home against visitors Beaminster by 5 wickets, Portland Red Triangle lost at St. George’s to Hamworthy Rec by 8 wickets and Puddletown beat Stalbridge by 6 runs.

Division 2:

Cerne Valley were beaten by Parley by 5 wickets, Charlton Down also lost at home loosing to Sturminster & Hinton by 5 wickets and Weymouth beat Shaftsbury at Redlands by 68 runs.

Division 3:

Abbotsbury travelled to Winton and went down by 7 wickets.
