Supporters of local families in need hold charity fund raiser

Our correspondent Idris Martin reports that the local charity Family Matters whose motto is “A Gift From One Family To Another” held a fund raiser at the Famous Old Spa pub in Weymouth on Saturday.

The charity provides good clothes, toys and equipment for babies and pre-schoolers to local families in need and all items are gifted by other local families.

The acts that performed at the fund raiser were Matt Taylor, Moondog, Milky Two & Speedway Snails.

Cherry Clarke said: “The fund raiser was a great success and now all of the donations and raffle takings have been tallied up we raised over £400. I would like to thank Pascal, landlord of the Famous Old Spa, and all of his staff that were on duty on Saturday and all of the acts who entertained us throughout the afternoon.”

If you would like to support the Family Matters charity their headquarters are sited at 10, Cambridge Road on the Granby Industrial Estate and are open on Tuesday mornings from 10am until midday. Please email first to give them the heads up you are coming – familymatters.wandp@gmail.com
