Coming soon to Dorchester – a unique fashion show, raising funds for Against Breast Cancer

Charity Angels UK are currently seeking local women to be models for The Show. All the models will have personal experience of breast cancer and will strut their stuff on the catwalk to show how far they have come and that you can look good and feel terrific even after such a difficult diagnosis. Some will be young, some will be older, some will be recently diagnosed and some will be many years past treatment. Some will be living with secondary breast cancer.

The charity would love to hear from local women with experience of breast cancer and with their courage and strength, they will raise funds for Against Breast Cancer supporting research into secondary breast cancer.

The Show will take place in the Victorian Hall at Dorset Museum on Thursday 12 October (6pm – 9pm).

A range of local retailers will provide outfits for different ‘scenes’ in the show and Charity Angels UK are delighted that RiskSTOP Group Ltd in Poundbury has joined in as a Gold sponsor.

Every year over 55,000 women and approx. 400 men are diagnosed with breast cancer in the UK. Survival rates have improved hugely in the last 30 years with treatment tailored to individuals and their specific breast cancer. However, around 8,000 women will lose their lives to what is still a scary and cruel disease.

Few, if any of us do not know someone who has been touched by breast cancer. Women and families talk of their shock, the devastating side effects that can occur – hair loss, weight gain, low level infections. Part of their recovery is rediscovering themselves and learning to live with this new ‘normal’. The Charity Angels UK Dorchester Fashion Show aims to help with this important rediscovery.

Tickets for The Show will be available from September at £25 per head to include a fizz and canape reception, entertainment and a commemorative programme.

For anyone interested in becoming a model and helping raise funds for charity, applications are open until the end of August. For more information and how to apply please email: jane@charityangels.co.uk or contact us via our Facebook page Charity Angels UK Dorchester Fashion Show.
