The Dorchester Lions have told KeeP 106 about the sixth successive year of the popular charity golf day which was kept going through the various trials and tribulations of covid restrictions!
The day is all about friendly, competitive fun – raising important funds for local charities in the process..!.
The Lions are proud to nominate the Shire Hall Memory Cafe as a main beneficiary this year. The cafe creates a relaxed environment to provide socialisation and activity sessions for those with memory difficulties – and they’ll attend together with their carers so they can have extra support.
It’s £40 per player to enter the Golf Day, playing in teams of four men, four women or a mixed team. You don’t have to be a brilliant golfer – the Stableford handicap scoring system ensures everyone has a good chance of doing well..! There will also be fun on-course competitions like ‘nearest the pin’ or ‘nearest the lion’ and the overall team winners will be the recipients of the majestic Dorchester Lions Golf Trophy..!
The entry fee not only includes a full round of golf but also a hot drink on arrival, mid-round refreshments and food for players after they have finished their game. In addition there will be a raffle and prize-giving on the day.
Dorchester Lions appreciate that these are difficult economic times but we hope that all players taking part will still consider the entry fee represents good value for money.
Dorchester and District Lions thank our sponsors – their generosity helps us cover the costs of staging the charity event. Without their support and the help and co-operation extended by the management and staff of Came Down Golf Club, we would have difficulty staging the Lions Golf Day.
All profits from the day will be donated to charity and good causes.
