A victim has come forward following our appeal for information regarding an alleged assault which took place at Weymouth Town Quay.
On Monday 4 September 2023 at approximately 11pm, officers responded to reports of a man who stood in front of oncoming traffic at the North Quay junction with West Wey Road.
It is reported that the man pushed the driver of a moped, causing them to nearly lose their balance and control of the vehicle. The driver swerved away from the man and continued their journey.
A 33-year-old man from Somerset was arrested on suspicion of assault. He has been released on police bail as enquiries continue.
On Tuesday 5 September 2023, officers issued an appeal for the victim of this reported assault to come forward. Officers can now confirm that the victim has come forward.
