Weekend Sports Report

Striker Ezio Touray made it 4 goals in 2 outings for Weymouth Men’s Senior team netting twice, the second a late penalty after he had been upended in the penalty area in the Terras Second Qualifying Round FA Cup tie at Highworth Town on Saturday with substitute Calvin Brooks adding a third to put Weymouth into a 3 – 1 lead and in to next week’s cup draw.

Dorchester Senior Men had no game this weekend, but Portland United overcame the challenge of Cowes Sports at Grove Corner beating their Wessex League visitors by 5 goals to 1.

Gavin Borthwick scored two for the Blues with Brin Doyle, Matt Harvey and Archie Woodford all adding a goal apiece.

In the Southwest Peninsular League East Bridport who dropped their first 2 points of the season last time out against Cullompton dropped 3 more away against Stoke Gabriel and Torbay Police losing out by 4 goals to 3.

Brad Rowe, Ryan Gall and Harley Brook all scoring for the Bees.

In the local rugby Tribute Southern Counties League, Dorchester tallied up 58 points at Coburg Road against visitors Yeovil with their guests scoring 12 in reply.

Swanage & Wareham travelled to Combe Down and outscored their hosts by 27 points to 24 and Weymouth & Portland who were also on the road into North Wiltshire to play Royal Wootton Bassett a xv and returned to Dorset on the wrong end of 61 points to 24 scoreline.

In the Tribute Dorset & Wilts Leagues Bridport had a home walk over when Elling & Ringwood second team failed to raise a side to make the trip to the Brewery Ground, Puddletown travelled to Bournemouth to play Oakmeadians and returned to Greenfields with a 60 points to nil result in the bank and Swanage &Wareham second team beat Bournemouth thirds at Bestwall Park by 65 points to 12.
