Assault outside Weymouth Angling Club – witness appeal

Dorset Police received a report at approximately 4.30pm on Sunday 17 September 2023 that a man had been assaulted outside Weymouth Angling Club in Commercial Road and officers are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward.

The victim, a man in his 50s, was treated at the scene by an ambulance crew before reporting the incident to the police.

Enquires are currently ongoing and no arrests have been made.

Police Constable Richard Symonds, of Weymouth police, said: “I am carrying out an investigation to establish what happened and am keen to hear from anyone with information.

“There may have been a number of people outside Weymouth Angling Club at the time or members inside the club who have relevant knowledge of what happened. I would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the incident and has not already spoken to police.”
