If you have overspent at Christmas a local church is offering free money coaching to help people manage their finances. CAP money coach, Dick Howard, and fellow CAP coaches are offering a three-hour course, one on Tuesday 9th January 2-5pm and the other on Saturday morning 13th January 9.30-12.30 at the Dorford Centre, Bridport Road, Dorchester.
Course participants will learn how to put a budget together, with tips on how to make your money go further and how to be disciplined about spending.
Dick explains “Most of us spend more at Christmas than intended and that can put an even tighter squeeze on our finances in the New Year, so having a plan to manage your money and budget becomes even more important.
“The courses are tried and tested and nationally well-regarded financial advisers have contributed to the material. And they are independent – no one is trying to sell you any financial products.”
Dorchester Poverty Action and Foodbank are backing these courses by offering a £20 Co-op voucher to participants who live in DT1/DT2 postcodes or who are NHS workers (terms and conditions apply, see website for details).
The courses are run by Dorchester Baptist Church using material created by Christians Against Poverty. It’s easy to book in. Simply visit www.dorchesterbc.org.uk/cap
