Cyclist flown to hospital with life-changing injuries following collision in Preston

Officers investigating a serious injury collision in Weymouth are appealing for witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage to come forward.

Dorset Police received a report at 4.55pm on Monday 22 January 2024 of a collision involving a black Ford Fiesta hatchback and a bicycle at Chalbury Corner.

The cyclist – a man aged in his 60s – was flown to hospital by air ambulance for treatment to injuries that are described as life changing.

Police Sergeant Gareth Thomas, of the traffic unit, said: “A road closure was put in place while officers investigated the collision and I would like to thank members of the public for their patience during this time.

“I am appealing to anyone who witnessed the incident, or the movements of the black Ford or the bicycle in the moments leading up to the collision, to please come forward.

“Also, I am particularly keen to hear from anyone who may have relevant dashcam footage from Littlemoor Road from around 4.40pm to 4.55pm on Monday 22 January 2024.”
