Thomson quits football

Weymouth football club’s striker Ben “Tommo” Thomson has decided to call it a day and hang up his boots for good.

The striker has made 277 appearances for the Terras over two spells at the Bob Lucas Stadium scoring 69 goals and 47 assists.

Thomson has been plagued with injury recently and that has probably been a big impact on his decision to quit football.

Manager Bobby Wilkinson expressed his dismay at Thomson’s retirement, but added that he had been a pleasure to work with and would be sorely missed.
