It is reported that at around 1.55pm on Thursday 18 April 2024 a man was located with injuries following an assault by two men in Crescent Street.

The men allegedly stole the victim’s wallet during the incident.

The victim – a local man aged in his 50s – sustained injuries to his head and was taken to hospital by the ambulance service for treatment.

A 51-year-old man from Weymouth has been arrested on suspicion of robbery.

Detective Inspector Rhys Griffiths, of Dorset County CID, said: “We are carrying out enquiries to establish the circumstances of the incident and I am keen to speak to anyone who was in the area and witnessed what happened.

“Also, I am appealing to motorists who may have been travelling in the area and captured anything of relevance on dashcam footage to assist our enquiries.”
