Single vehicle collision on Puddletown Bypass – witness appeal

Dorset Police are appealing for witnesses or anyone with relevant dashcam footage to come forward as they investigate a road traffic collision near Dorchester.

At around 1pm on Saturday 18 May 2024 Dorset Police received a report of a single-vehicle collision on the westbound carriageway of the A35 Puddletown Bypass near Tolpuddle.

Emergency services attended and the driver was checked over by the ambulance service, but did not require hospital treatment.

Police Sergeant Anneka Stone, of Dorchester police, said: “We are carrying out enquiries into the circumstances of this incident and I am keen to hear from anyone who witnessed the collision, or the manner of driving of the vehicle involved prior to it.

“I would also urge any motorists who were driving in the vicinity and have dashcam fitted to please review their footage from around the relevant timeframe to see if they have captured anything of relevance.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact Dorset Police at www.dorset.police.uk or by calling 101, quoting occurrence number 55240074214. Alternatively, independent charity Crimestoppers can be contacted anonymously online at Crimestoppers-uk.org or by calling Freephone 0800 555 111.
