A charity car wash is being held in Weymouth this Sunday (9 June) to raise money for the Fire Fighters Charity and a Camp Borneo expedition.
The event is being held at the towns fire station on Radipole Lane between 10am and 3pm, and firefighters will be washing cars in return for donations.
The station is supporting Crew Manager O’Shea’s daughter who is fundraising for a trip to Borneo where they will be undertaking some community project work for one month in July 2025 with Camps International.
Station Manager Martin Charles said “The Fire Fighters Charity provides everyone within the fire and rescue service with a vital lifeline when things are tough, whether it’s rehabilitation after injury or someone else to turn to during mental health or financial challenges. Drivers can come and get their vehicles cleaned by our firefighters and make a charity donation to support these worthy causes.”
The Fire Fighters Charity offers specialist, lifelong support for all serving and retired members of the UK fire services community, covering mental, physical and social wellbeing. It is reliant on donations to meet the cost of operating its services to support over 55,000 beneficiaries.
