Appeal for witnesses and dashcam footage following public order incident in Weymouth

Police officers investigating a public order incident in Weymouth are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward.

It is reported that at around 7pm on Tuesday 13 August 2024 a man racially abused a group of people outside The Nook cocktail bar.

Police Constable Chloe Longman, of Weymouth police, said: “I am carrying out enquiries to establish the full circumstances of the incident.

“With it being the height of the summer season, there would have been a lot of tourists in the town at the time so I am appealing to anyone who may have witnessed what happened.

“I am also appealing to motorists driving in the area to please check their dashcams to see if they have recorded anything of relevance.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact Dorset Police at www.dorset.police.uk or by calling 101, quoting occurrence number 55240124439. Alternatively, independent charity Crimestoppers can be contacted anonymously online at Crimestoppers-uk.org or by calling Freephone 0800 555 111.
