Witness and dashcam appeal following collision in Weymouth

Officers investigating a road traffic collision in Weymouth are appealing for witnesses or anyone with relevant dashcam footage to come forward.

The collision occurred at around 2.30pm on Saturday 7 September 2024 on Chickerell Link Road, at the junction with Link Park Road.

It was reported that a vehicle travelling along Chickerell Link Road toward Chickerell Camp stopped suddenly, causing a collision involving two vehicles travelling behind – a silver Toyota Yaris and a black Vauxhall Corsa.

The vehicle which was reported to have stopped suddenly left the scene, possibly unaware of the collision that had occurred behind it.

Police Constable Chloe Seaward, of Weymouth police, said: “We are carrying out enquiries into this collision and are looking to identify the third vehicle involved.

“I am keen to speak to anyone who may have witnessed the incident or captured it on dashcam or CCTV footage.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact Dorset Police at www.dorset.police.uk or by calling 101, quoting occurrence number 55240138333. Alternatively, independent charity Crimestoppers can be contacted anonymously online at Crimestoppers-uk.org or by calling Freephone 0800 555 111.
