Weekend Sports Preview

If any football match can be described as a 6-pointer, Weymouth’s game away against Aveley on Saturday definitely can.

The Terras are currently rock bottom of the National League South league table with a record of playing 13, winning 1, drawing 4, and losing 8, tallying up 7 points. In contrast, the Miller’s record reads played 13, won 2, drawn 2, lost 9 and sit in 23rd place in the table just one place above Weymouth with a point more, so if the Terras are to leapfrog over their guests and move off the bottom of the table then only a victory will be good enough.

Dorchester Football Club’s senior men’s team, still riding high in 4th place in the Southern Premier League, visit the Webswood Stadium to play Swindon Supermarine, and manager Tom Killick will be focused on returning to winning ways after bouncing out of the FA Trophy at Totton last weekend.

Portland United entertain Baffins Milton Rovers at Grove Corner for a Wessex Premier League Fixture while the Bridport senior men’s team have a vacant weekend, but their reserves visit Weymouth College to play Balti Sports with the match kicking off at 1:30 pm.

There are no local Tribute Rugby fixtures this weekend.

On Sunday, the Weymouth Football Club women travel into Somerset to meet Yeovil women at Huish Park with a scheduled kick-off time of 2:00pm.
