Update – further arrest in connection with reported assaults in Weymouth

Detectives investigating reported assaults on two men in Weymouth have made a further arrest.

It was reported that at around 4am on Sunday 27 October 2024 two men aged in their 20s were involved in an altercation with a group of up to eight people in Westham Road.

One of the victims sustained a fractured jaw and the other sustained a cut lip, laceration on his ear and swelling to his forehead.

Following enquiries and an initial CCTV appeal, three 19-year-old men from the local area were arrested on suspicion of inflicting grievous bodily harm and assault occasioning actual bodily harm. They were released under investigation pending further enquiries.

After a further CCTV appeal and additional enquiries, a fourth 19-year-old Weymouth man has also now been arrested on suspicion of inflicting grievous bodily harm and assault occasioning actual bodily harm. He too has been released under investigation as detectives continue to carry out enquiries.
