Littlemoor Family Hub – coming soon

Families in Littlemoor will soon benefit from a Family Hub, bringing together essential services and support under one roof.

Families in Littlemoor will soon benefit from a Family Hub, bringing together essential services and support under one roof.

The new Littlemoor Family Hub will be based at the existing Children’s Centre in the Top Club building, a much-loved space in the community.

Dorset Council is committed to investing in the site, making improvements, and expanding the services available to better serve local families.

Families will have the opportunity to share their ideas on how the site can best meet their needs and learn more about the plans for the family hub.

To support this, two information sessions will be held:

  • Friday 28th March at 11:00 am – 12:00 pm
  • Friday 11th April at 1:00 pm – 2:00 pm

Both sessions will take place at the Children’s Centre / Top Club building, Louviers Rd, Weymouth DT3 6AY.

These sessions are open to everyone and will provide an opportunity for families and members of the community to share their ideas and learn more about the plans for the family hub.

Family Hubs are welcoming spaces designed to offer advice, support, and activities for families with children and young people aged 0-25 years.

Available services will include midwifery, health visiting, financial advice, parenting support, learn-and-play sessions, activities for young people, and much more.

Building on the success of Big4Littlemoor, which has supported the community for over a decade, the newly established Littlemoor Hub Charitable Incorporated Organisation will oversee the Family Hub.

This organisation will work closely with health services, Dorset Council, and a range of voluntary and community sector partners to deliver high-quality services tailored to the needs of local children, young people, and families.

Cllr. Clare Sutton, Dorset Council Cabinet Member for Children’s Services, Education, and Skills, said:

“It’s fantastic to see the Littlemoor Family Hub so close to opening and ready to serve the local community.

“We encourage local families to attend the information sessions and share their valuable input as we shape this important service together.”
