Weekend Sports Report

Relegation looks almost inevitable for Weymouth Football Club’s Men’s team now following their narrow one nil defeat at Chippenham on Saturday despite playing against 10 men from the 44th minute when Chippenham’s Leone Grauata was sent from the field of play by the referee.

The deadlock was not broken until the 73rd minute when Terras’ defender Jordan Thompson also saw red, and from the resulting penalty kick, the Bluebird’s striker Matt McClure converted to net the only goal of the game.

Dorchester paraded their new signing, former Bournemouth player Brett Pitman, before their match at the Avenue Stadium against Marlow.

The Magpies were 3 nil up courtesy of a goal each from Luke Roberts, Will Spetch and Olaf Koszela before Pitman entered the fray, and there was enough time remaining for him to score a hat trick on his debut, making the final score Dorchester 6 Marlow, nil.

Portland United went down by 2 goals to 1 at Grove Corner against AFC Stoneham, Josh Camp getting their only goal, and Bridport came back from 2 goals to nil down to snatch victory by 3 goals to 2 at home against Stoke Gabriel & Torbay Police.

Fred Parsons netted twice for the Bees, with Riley Weeden adding their third.
