Countryside Matters 17.03.25

Our programme on all things countryside and the outdoors: farming, gardening, wildlife and the environment. ‘Countryside Matters’ brings you mostly Dorset topics but further afield, too. In this programme: The first butterflies of the year have been spotted. We’ll be hearing about how and where some of our butterfly species overwinter • Imogen Davenport poses the question “is it wildlife versus development” and says that good planning can support both homes and nature • Wildlife Trusts are advocating “Natural Flood Management” as the Dorset Wildlife Trust’s Amanda Broom explains • Finally, we hear about a charter for nature, called the “World Magna Carta”. Malcolm Dyer explains why he and an American scientist have set it up. Presented by Jenny Devitt…
