Tickets selling fast for the Dorchester Walking Festival

The countdown has started to the start of the Dorchester Walking Festival on 10th May. Nine days of guided walking is programmed to take place in and around Dorchester – appealing to all tastes and levels of ability.

The recent spell of dry sunny weather has helped boost ticket sales, however there are still plenty of exciting, guided walks available to choose from.

Proceeds from the Festival walks will be donated to a charity chosen by the volunteer walk leaders. This year The National Trust, Dorset Air Ambulance, Dorset Wildlife Trust, People Need Nature, War Memorial Trust, RMA – The Royal Marines Charity, The Amphibian & Reptile Conservation Trust, Trees for Dorset, Friends of Lanterns, West Dorset Women’s Refuge and The Deacon Foundation will all benefit.

May is National Walking Month. Whether you’re a wild-weather wanderer, a solitary stroller, a hardcore hiker or a weekend walk-and-talker, this is an excellent opportunity to get involved and celebrate everything you love about getting out in nature. This is an annual campaign that promotes the benefits of walking. It’s an opportunity to celebrate walking’s positive impact on physical health, mental wellbeing, and the environment – whether you do it for leisure, fitness or your daily commute. Why not lace up your boots and join one of our own knowledgeable and experienced Dorchester Walking Festival Walk Leaders on a walk of your choosing?
