Man arrested following alleged robbery in Weymouth

Police are appealing for anyone with information to come forward as they continue to investigate an alleged robbery in Weymouth – with a man being arrested and charged.

It was reported that at around midday on Thursday 26 June 2025 in the town centre a man acted aggressively by threatening another man asking for money, which the victim handed over. The victim was not physically harmed.

Shortly afterwards, a 28-year man from Weymouth was arrested. He has been charged with robbery and was due to appear at Poole Magistrates’ Court on Friday 27 June 2025.

Police Constable Alex Constantine, of Weymouth police, said: “Our investigation into this incident is still ongoing and I would urge anyone with additional information as to the alleged offender’s behaviour or actions to come forward.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact Dorset Police at www.dorset.police.uk or by calling 101, quoting occurrence number 55250091857. Alternatively, independent charity Crimestoppers can be contacted anonymously online at Crimestoppers-uk.org or by calling Freephone 0800 555 111.
