Weymouth & Portland Rugby Club are searching for a new head coach following the departure of Rich Bament, who stood down at the end of last season following 5 successful years at Monmouth Avenue that saw the Seahorses promoted into the Tribute Southern Counties League.
Unfortunately, they were relegated back into the Dorset & Wilts Division 1 the following season due to a cascade effect of clubs in higher divisions.
Portland United are delighted to announce the signing of Marcus Smith for the 25/26 season.
Some of our local football clubs continue with their pre-season campaigns this weekend, with Dorchester travelling to play Hamworthy United this evening and Bridport crossing the Causeway on Saturday to lock horns with Portland United at Grove Corner. This one has a kickoff time of 2:00pm.
However, the Dorset League Cricket season is still in full swing with Dorchester hosting Sherborne at the Rec and Bere Regis travelling to Poole, both in the Premier League.
In Premier 2, Chalk Valley hosts Martinstown and Blandford visit Marnhull.
In County Division,1 Weymouth head east to play Royal Challengers Sports Club and Portland Red Triangle play Stalbridge at Park Grove.
