FA Trophy 3rd Qualifying Round Dorset Summery:
Weymouth crashed out of the National competition at their first hurdle losing 2 nil to Wimborne Town at the Wyatt Homes Stadium. Our Man at the Match said:
“The Terras were just unlucky, they definitely had the best of the play. However, they just couldn’t seem to get the ball into the back of the Magpies net. Wimborne scored the first goal and there was very little the Weymouth goalkeeper could do to prevent it crossing the goal line, but then in the second half the referee decided to award Poole a penalty that had almost everyone at the stadium scratching their heads, even the home fans didn’t know why it was given.
“One thing that is blindingly obvious though is that the Terras need a striker up front to score more goals”.
Dorchester won through into the draw for the next round beating Bideford at the Avenue Stadium by 4 goals to nil.
Tom Smith banked a hat trick for the Magpies with Luke Pardoe netting their 4th.
