Even the most optimistic of Weymouth Football Club fans would not have expected that the Terras would return with any points to show from their trip to high flying Farnham Town after losing 6 nil against Poole last time out, but Steve Claridge’s boys against all of the odds travelled back with all 3 after winning the game by 3 goals to 2.
Callum Watts netted twice for Weymouth with Reuben Reid also scoring.
Our Man at the Match said, “A fantastic result for Weymouth especially when the Terras were down to the bare bones with only 2 substitutes on the bench”.
Dorchester hosted Wimborne Town at the Avenue Stadium but failed to register any goals at all with the visitors scoring 2.
Portland United travelled to Malmesbury Victoria for a FA Vase tie and ran out 2 – 1 winners with Archie Woolford and Pat Jenkins both scoring for the Blues.
Bridport senior team had no game, but the Bees Reserves hosted Dorchester Sports at St. Mary’s with the County Town side winning 2 nil.
In the local Tribute Ale Rugby leagues Weymouth and Portland and Puddletown met at Monmouth Avenue and the two teams entertained their supporters to a hotly contested encounter where the result could have gone in either direction.
Turning around at half time level at 12 points each the Seahorses had to face the second half into the wind; however, they managed to play most of the 40 minutes inside the Villagers’ territory emerging victors by 24 points to 19.

On Sunday next, the 26th the Dorset & Wilts Under 18 squad rugby selectors are hosting a Development / Trial Day at Marlborough Rugby Club with registration starting at 9 45 am for a coaches briefing at 10.
On Sunday Weymouth Football Club’s women entertain Weston Super Mare Women at the Bob Lucas Stadium and Bridport Ladies play Cobham Sports at home.
Also on Sunday afternoon Weymouth & Portland’s women’s team, the Shehorses play away against Eastleigh.
A notice to Weymouth Football Club fans – The Terras’ Board of Directors are hosting a Fan’s Forum at the Bob Lucas Stadium on Thursday starting at 6 30 pm.
