Five Finalists Revealed for Dorchester Shopfront of the Season – Autumn Charm Edition

Dorchester Town Council and Dorchester Business Improvement District (BID) are pleased to announce the five finalists for the inaugural Dorchester Shopfront of the Season Awards.

Following an enthusiastic response from the public, a total of 313 nominations were received. The five businesses with the highest number of nominations have now been shortlisted, each recognised for their outstanding contribution to the town’s visual appeal and welcoming atmosphere.

Nominations closed on 17th October.

Finalists were selected based on the following criteria:

  • Sympathetic to the heritage setting and conservation area
  • Accessible and inclusive
  • Inviting and welcoming
  • Well maintained
  • Attractive and distinctive window display

The Finalists Are:

  • Creative Image Studios – Art classes and creative workshops in Antelope Walk (38 nominations)
  • Serenity – Nails and Beauty on High West Street (34 nominations)
  • Forever Ink – Tattoo Studio in Nappers Court (27 nominations)
  • Teasel and Skylark – Bookshop on Trinity Street
  • The Fridge – Delicatessen in Tudor Arcade

All five finalists will receive certificates and promotional recognition. The judging panel—comprising the Mayor of Dorchester, representatives from Dorchester BID, and the Chair of the Town Centre Action Group—is now visiting each finalist to select the overall winner.

The winning business will receive:

  • A cash prize jointly funded by Dorchester Town Council and Dorchester BID
  • A printed certificate and digital winner’s badge
  • An invitation to serve as a guest judge in the next season
