Christmas Sports

The revolving door at Weymouth Football Club turned again during the week with the departure of the Gaffer Steve Claridge by “Mutual Agreement” and the promotion of coach Jamie Wells into the hot seat and for the 5th time former Terras’ goalkeeper Jason Matthews returns to the Bob Lucas Stadium this time as “Director of Football”.

Matthews said, “I had a call from the finance director, and the club is in my heart, so I just had to return”.

“I feel for Steve, (Claridge) but football is a results driven business, and we are where we are, (21st out of the 22 clubs in the division) and it is up to me to put the smiles back on the faces of the Terras fans”.

“My phone has been red hot already and I have made a couple of additions to the squad, subject to paperwork and to add we will try to be as transparent with the fans as we can in what direction we intend to take the club”.

The Terras visit the Avenue Stadium on Saturday to lock horns with Dorchester for “El Jurassico” the Jurassic Coast Southern Premier League Derby.

Returning to the Bob Lucas Stadium for a 5th time, former Terras’ goalkeeper Jason Matthews, this time as “Director of Football”.
