Witness and dashcam appeal following road traffic collision in Weymouth

Dorset Police received a report at 1.47pm on Thursday 18 December 2025 of a road traffic collision involving a red BMW and a blue Vauxhall Corsa on the A354 Weymouth Relief Road and are appealing for witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage to come forward.

Officers attended with the ambulance service and fire service and road closures were put in place.

The driver of the BMW, a 35-year-old man from Weymouth, was arrested on suspicion of driving offences and was taken to hospital with injuries not believed to be serious. He has been released under investigation as enquiries continue.

No other injuries were reported.

Police Constable Jake Ward, of Weymouth and Portland police, said: “We are carrying out enquiries into this incident and I would urge any witnesses or anyone with information that might assist our investigation to please contact us.

“I would also urge anyone who was driving in the area and has dashcam fitted to their vehicle to please check their footage for anything of relevance.”
