Weekend Sports Report

A good day for our two Southern Premier League clubs, who are both struggling at the wrong end of the league table.

Weymouth followed up their home win last weekend against league leaders Walton & Hersham with a 2 1 win away at Basingstoke.

The Terras trailed by a goal to nil before their clinical striker, Brandon Goodship, netted twice to snatch victory for the Terras, making the final score Basingstoke 1 vs Weymouth 2.

Our Man at the Match said: “It’s three more points that will help in their relegation dog fight. This result sees the Terras rise to 16th in the league table. If Weymouth can keep this up, then they will survive”.

Dorchester hosted Havant & Waterlooville at the Avenue Stadium and emerged 4 goals to 3 Victors.

Jaydyn Crosbie, Corby Moore, Wayne Robinson, and Harvey Wright all netted a goal apiece for the Magpies.

Both Portland United and Bridport’s fixtures fell victim to the weather and were postponed.

The Dorset Premier also lost matches; however, some games did go ahead.
