Weekend Sports Preview

Havant & Waterlooville visit the Bob Lucas Stadium on Saturday for a Southern Premier League fixture, and Weymouth manager Jamie Wells will be hoping that his team will return to winning ways following their 3 1 reverse at Gloucester City last weekend.

The Terras, who lie in 16th place in the league table, are still looking over their shoulders at the teams below them who have games in hand, and they will be without on lone striker Barnie Stone, who has been recalled to his parent club Eastleigh in midweek.

The Hawks sit comfortably in 9th place in the table, so the outcome of this contest is difficult to predict.

Dorchester’s interim manager Wes Fogden will be planning to tally up a second victory in 7 days this time at the Avenue Stadium, where Evesham come calling.

Last Saturday, the Magpies won 1 nil away at Yate Town Foggie’s first game in charge of the Dorchester first team.

During the week, Dorchester also lost a loan player, Connor Underhill, who also returned to Eastleigh.

Portland United host Andover New Street at Grove Corner for a Wessex Premier League game, while in the Southwest Peninsular League, East Bridport travel to Ilfracombe.

The Bees’ reserves are scheduled to play Bournemouth Electric at St. Mary’s in a Dorset Premier League clash, weather permitting.

On Sunday, Weymouth Football Club’s women entertain Poole Borough women, Dorchester women host Sherborne women, and Bridport’s ladies play Cheddar ladies also at home.
