Christian Aid’s Dorchester and District committee has invited a range of local justice organisations to run stalls and give information about their activities at a coffee morning on Saturday 19 October.
The event, which takes place at the United Church, Dorchester, from 10am – 12noon, will include stands from Freedom from Torture, Hilfield Friary, Traidcraft, Tools with a Mission, the Palestine and Israeli Peace Group, the Sudan appeal and Christian Aid.
It will be officially opened by Dorchester’s mayor Richard Biggs and will include coffee, cakes, second hand books, fair trade goods, charity cards, bric-a-brac and a range of gifts.
Committee chair Tony Boyden said the event provided an opportunity to learn more about some of the excellent social justice groups active in the town: “It is particularly important at this time of intolerance nationally to show how groups are helping drive out poverty and bring about justice in the world.”
Entry is free!
