The Dorset Intelligence and Insight Service (DiiS) has been shortlisted for the 2020 Institute of Collaborative Working (ICW) Collaborative Working Awards.
Working across all healthcare partners in Dorset, the DiiS provides insights and analytics to help with planning and system resilience. The data can be used to identify trends at a community level as part of Population Health Management and can help health and care professionals support individuals to improve their lives.
More recently it has been used as a live resource during the COVID-19 pandemic to track cases across Dorset.
The submission was based on all aspects of collaboration that have contributed to the development of the DiiS and Population Health Management (PHM) Programme in Dorset, both with ICS partners as well as with external and industry partners.
Judging took place on Wednesday 30th September, when members of the team presented to a panel of three industry experts. The award ceremony is scheduled for 10th December at the House of Lords where the team will find out if they have won the award.
A key sponsor of the DiiS and referee for the submission is local GP Dr Karen Kirkham. She said “I am delighted and proud that this programme of work is getting the national recognition it deserves. The fantastic cross-system insights that the DiiS provides enable us to view our population down to patient level and enables us to implement multi-organisation holistic solutions to positively impact the health outcomes of our patients. The power of the data allows intelligent decision making for better patient care.”
