Air ambulance and land crews respond to Maiden Castle walker

Crews from the South Western Ambulance Service and the Air Ambulance responded to reports of an injured walker on Maiden Castle.

The incident occurred this morning (Sunday 11 April 2021) at approximately 10AM.

It’s understood that a lady fell and broke her ankle, whilst walking around the monument, and that considerable time had passed before she was located.

Two ambulances and the air ambulance were needed to extricate the injured walker to Dorset County Hospital for further treatment.

A witness told KeeP 106: “The ambulance crews were amazing and a big thank you to our amazing ambulance service”
