Sexual Trauma and Recovery Services (STARS Dorset) are asking anyone and everyone to do as many STAR JUMPS as they can in one minute, or for those who are keen for an extra challenge five minutes, and help raise money for the charity. The event is taking place on Friday 28th May and anyone can take part either on their own, with a group of friends, their school or work colleagues online or in person. Anyone who does participate is asked to donate £3.00 to the charity.
The charity supports anyone of any age or gender who lives, works or studies in Dorset and has suffered any form of sexual trauma at any time in their life. Last year they supported over 2000 people across the county and the demand for their services are increasing year on year. Any funds raised will help the charity to support those who need it; They provide a one to one counselling service, a support line, a dedicated children and young people service and an Independent Sexual Violence Advisor Service. All services are free.
Donations can be made via a Facebook or Instagram page @starsdorset, via their website or you can text ‘STARSDORSET’ to 70085 (this costs £3 plus standard rate).
