West Dorset MP Chris Loder’s campaign to improve the condition of one of West Dorset’s flagship railway stations was given a boost earlier this month, when work finally began on the construction of a new boundary fence in the second week of July, to replace the collapsed wall which separated Dorchester South Station from Cromwell Road which is now nearing completion.
Chris Loder told KeeP 106; “The new fence, along with the disabled access ramp at Dorchester East, are both things I have campaigned for strongly in recent months. It is therefore excellent news to see the hard work done behind the scenes paying off”
Mr Loder added; “This is the start of finally getting some action to sort out the state of Dorchester South Station which I have pushed for ever since election are finally being realised. My mission is to see a railway station for our county town that we can truly be proud of, so I will continue to make sure that we get further improvements to Dorchester South over the coming months.”
