Appeal for information following suspicious vehicle fire in Weymouth

Officers investigating a suspicious vehicle fire in Weymouth are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward.

Dorset Police received a report at 3.52am on Sunday 5 March 2023 of a vehicle fire at the junction of Blenheim Road and Lancaster Road.

Officers attended to assist the fire service and, following enquiries, it is believed the fire was started deliberately.

Police Constable Jody Durkin-Jones, of Weymouth police, said: “We are investigating the circumstances of this fire and I am keen to hear from anyone who witnessed any suspicious activity in the area during the early hours of Sunday 5 March 2023.

“I would also like to hear from anyone who may have captured any relevant footage on home CCTV, doorbell cameras or dashcam.”
