Motorcyclist is airlifted to hospital following collision near Bovington

Officers investigating a serious injury collision near Bovington are issuing an appeal for witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage to get in touch.

At around 11.40am on Wednesday 24 May 2023 a collision occurred near to Clouds Hill involving a green BMW motorcycle and a white Toyota Hilix.

The motorcycle rider – a man aged in his 50s from the Weymouth area – sustained serious injuries and was airlifted to hospital for treatment. His family are aware.

The driver of the Toyota was uninjured.

Police Sergeant Mike Gatfield, of the Roads Policing Team, said: “An investigation is underway and we are appealing for any witnesses, including any Ministry of Defence (MOD) personnel who were working in the area and may have seen what happened, to please come forward.

“I am also keen to hear from anyone that may have captured the incident, or moments leading up to it, on dashcam footage.”
