Popular Weymouth folk band re-form for the Wessex Folk Festival

As part of the Wessex Folk Festival folk band Arish Mell played a re-union gig at the King’s Arms in Weymouth on Sunday afternoon. It was the first time they had played together for over 20 years.

They were a regulars playing in the pub on most Sunday evenings.

Vocalist Des Quick said, ” We are missing a couple of members who sadly have passed away and one lad travelled up from Cornwall and another from Torquay, but we have managed to have a couple of rehearsals so I hope all the punters who turn up enjoy themselves I know we will”.

Many Weymouth residents will remember the good times listening to, and joining in with, Arish Mell in the Kings Arms back in the day as illustrated by the two black & white images below.
