Update: A man has come forward in relation to upskirting incident in Weymouth

A man has come forward following a CCTV appeal in relation to a report of an upskirting offence at a shop in Weymouth.

It was reported that at around 3pm on Friday 16 June 2023 a 14-year-old girl was in the Tesco Express store on Portland Road in Wyke Regis when a man was seen apparently trying to take photos underneath her skirt.

A woman reportedly challenged the man and made the victim aware of what happened, and the man was subsequently seen leaving the store in the direction of Sunnyside Road.

Following a CCTV appeal to identify a person who officers wanted to speak to in connection with the incident, a man has come forward and is assisting police with their enquiries. No arrests have been made.

Officers are continuing to appeal for the woman who reportedly intervened and challenged the man to come forward, as she may have important information to assist the investigation.
