Weekend Sports Report

Weymouth Football Club’s senior men’s team welcomed Bournemouth’s under 21 side to the Bob Lucas Stadium for a pre-season fixture on Saturday and turned over the Premier League youngsters by 2 goals to 1.

The Terras goals coming from Dan Roberts and Tom Bearwish.

Dorchester were also in pre-season action at the Avenue Stadium against Frome Town and came from behind to snatch a late equalizer courtesy of a Shaq Gwengwe penalty in the 90th minute of the game.

President and former RFU President Willie Wildash retires and is replaced by Fiona Goldsmith who stands down from the Chair with Anthony Goss replacing Fiona as Chairman.

After the Annual Genral Meeting had closed Mr Wildash presented club treasurer Alison Hunter with the Ian Gatenby silver salver in recognition of the work she has put in, not only looking after the club’s finances but also in the clubhouse kitchen and in the bar over many seasons.
