Hazel Hoskin from Maiden Castle Farm reports that Mother Nature has surprised them with the Sunflowers coming to bloom earlier than expected.
The popular Dorset Sunflower Trail will open for its third season on Friday 28 July 2023 from 11 am till 4pm.
Sunflowers are stunning to look at and even better when the fields are golden at the height of bloom. You can walk and enjoy the beauty of nature, grab that perfect photo, make special memories with friends and family and be uplifted by these smiling “sunshine-faced” sunflowers.
Following a successful collaboration last year, Dorchester Town Council will be running a number of sunflower themed events in the town. Dorchester and Poundbury will be bursting with sunflower vibes from mid-July creating a Summer of Sunflowers for all to enjoy.
For 2023, half of the profits from the Sunflower Trail will be donated to charity. This year’s charity is the Special Care Baby Unit in Dorset County Hospital.
Tickets will be held at 2022 prices, £5 per person and are on sale now. Opening dates and times will be confirmed on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/MaidenCastleFarm and website www.maidencastlefarm.co.uk once the sunflower crop comes to bloom.
This unique natural experience is one becoming a must see for all ages, when visiting or living in the County of Dorset.
