Weekend Sports Report

A 70th-minute Charlie Rowan equaliser from a free kick on the edge of the penalty area that the Worthing keeper fumbled salvaged a National League South point for Weymouth after the Rebels had taken the lead in the first half, making the final score Weymouth 1 vs Worthing 1.

Our Man at the Match said, “Considering. Worthing is a full-time club, and the Terras are only part-timers. It was a good result; I thought that the Terras had at least 3 good shouts for a penalty, and Josh Mcquoid’s strike rebounded off the crossbar. Their keeper made a howler, fumbling Charlie Rowan’s free-kick that led to the goal, but in my opinion, I think Weymouth’s second-half performance was good enough to win the game”.

Dorchester netted 3 goals at the Avenue Stadium against visitors Chertsey, who could only manage 1 in reply.

The Magpies striker Olaf Koszela put the ball into the back of the visitors’ net twice, with Shaq Gwengwe netting their third, making the final score Dorchester 3, Chertsey 1.

Greg Borthwick collected a hat trick at Grove Corner in Portland United’s Wessex Premier League 3 goals to 1 victory against visitors Downton.

Bridport progressed into the next round of the FA Vase following their 3 goals to 1 win at St. Mary’s against Brockenhurst.

Man of the Match was Soloman Ayunga, who scored all 3 of the Bee’s goals.

In the Tribute Rugby Leagues, Dorchester lost at Coburg Road, by 14 points to 40 against Devizes and Swanage & Wareham also went down at home, beaten by Royal Wootton Bassett’s second team by 30 points to 15.

In the Tribute Dorset & Wilts Divisions, Blandford travelled to Slaughtergate and returned to Larksmead following their 29 points to 17 win against North Dorset’s second team, and Puddletown put visitors Bridport to the sword at Greenfields, winning the game scoring 45 unanswered points.
