Witness appeal following report of assault in Weymouth

Dorset Police received a report at 2.54am on Sunday 1 December 2024 of an altercation taking place outside The Closet in Maiden Street.

It was reported that a 19-year-old man was assaulted and he was taken to hospital for treatment to a serious head injury.

Following enquiries at the scene, three people – all aged 19 and from Weymouth – were arrested on suspicion of inflicting grievous bodily harm and affray.

They have been released on police bail as further enquiries are carried out.

Police Constable Harry Chaplin, of Weymouth police, said: “We are carrying out a full investigation into this incident and I would urge any witnesses who have not already spoken to police to please come forward.”
