Mixed fortunes for our local Non-League Football Teams this weekend. Dorchester crashed out of the FA Cup in the 3rd qualifying round away at Farnham going down by 2 goals to nil and Portland United lost out by a goal to nil at Petersfield in a Wessex Premier League fixture, but in the South-West Peninsular League East Bridport extended their in their winning run to 5 on the spin beating Torrington away by 2 goals to nil.
Fred Parsons and Owen Kemp both scoring a goal each for the Bees.

Luke Cook turns away after scoring the Terras’ 4th goal.
However, the result of the day goes to Weymouth who produced their best performance this season at the Bob Lucas Stadium putting 4 goals into the back of Tiverton Town’s net and conceding only once.
Tiverton were still on the coach and the Terras took full advantage racing into a 3 nil lead inside the first 15 minutes.
Defender Kieran Douglas opened the Terras’ account with a bullet header from a corner, then came 2 strikes from skipper Tom Bearwish.
Following a now customary “Time Out” Tivi broke clear from a corner and a slide rule pass from wide out right found Jagger Cane who left the Terras’ keeper Ben Clark grasping at thin air as the ball crossed the goal line making the score Weymouth 3 Tiverton 1 at half time.
After the break neither side could exert total control, and it was hinted that if Tivi could score again then it would be anyone’s game, but it was Oakley Hanger who’s precise cross from a free kick found an unmarked Luke Cook inside the visitor’s penalty area and the striker placed the ball wide of Tivi keeper and into the corner of the net for the Terras’ 4th.
Our correspondent at the match said, “A great win for Weymouth, every player gave 100 % and a big improvement on what we have seen so far this season, it’s a shame that only 582 fans turned out, but understandable and the Terras have now moved out of the relegation zone which has to be a big positive”.
In the local Tribute Ale rugby Dorset & Wilts league Dorchester travelled to Wimborne and narrowly lost by 39 points to 36.
On Sunday Weymouth Ladies football team entertain Wells City Ladies, Dorchester play Ridgeway Ladies at Redlands and Bridport Ladies travel to Portishead Ladies with all games kicking off at 2:00pm.
